HomeSafe View: Live Swann CCTV viewing on your iPhone and iPad
HomeSafe View supports the following features:
Multi-channel viewing with up to 16 cameras on screen at the same time (16ch view works best on iPads)
Play back stored recordings from your DVR on your handset or tablet (requires high upload speed internet)
Change settings on your DVR or NVR in app
Capture video from your camera live view to your iPhone to play back later
Capture single and multi still images and save these to your iPhone's picture library
Control PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) cameras remotely
Note: Current model handsets and iPads are recommended for high resolution playback and live viewing more than 8 cameras at once.
Note: This app uses a data stream that will connect to your Swann DVR via 4G/5G or WiFi. When using 4G/5G, the video from your DVR will likely be considered "downloads" by your phone service provider and will contribute to any download limit your phone data plan may have. If you exceed any plan limits you may incur additional usage charges. Consult with your mobile service provider regarding the use of a video streaming app and how it may affect your plan.

Lazy Developers
Most of it seems ok and basic to use but there’s silly things that I can’t do but can with my Dashcam that is 90% smaller and only costs £70 and not £700+.
Such as click on download video and it downloads and if you want to use landscape mode it don’t work unless you open the menu and click on anything in the menu and it don’t have to be related to viewing modes and then return to the camera screen and it now work in portrait mode which is annoying and means the developer is being lazy and not testing the system.
These are the only two options I try to use and they don’t work.
I’m have the latest iPhone and always update my apps and phone everyday.
Okay app- could be better
The app constantly lags.. when clicking on the app itself there is at least a minute between the app connecting to CCTV & viewing live footage which is a massive let down (sometimes this takes up to 3 minutes), prior to updates this worked extremely quick (30 sec tops)?
Once you finally manage to get the feed on your iPhone app it does at time crash & lag mid viewing the cameras feed- which is not ideal at all if you’re trying to see what is happening live at given time. This leaves you clicking through to the recorded stream, therefore not being live.. if there is any issues.
Overall I feel like this app is good for what it is, definitely nice to have playback feature. Although lately I cannot get the motion sensor pre-recorded video part to work (used to before?).
I feel like this app is due its review and update in the weak areas everyone specifies. For the money I have spent I’d like to see a fully compatible app that doesn’t lag this badly.
Long overdue update at last
The new update has added lots of new functionality which means lots of adjustments can be made via the App and negates the need to log on manually to the camera from the hard drive unit.
On the next update it would be good if the camera view grid on the Home Screen could fill the entire screen as it used to do as all the little thumb type images are now right at the top of the screen for some reason with a lot of wasted space below?
