Adds proper remote EV charging
I use this app to schedule my EV charge to take advantage of a cheap overnight EV rate.
It does a good job of adding the charging control missing from the shockingly bad myAudi app, although it is a bit clunky to initiate.
It works by connecting to my Audi account and manipulating ‘charge now’ and ‘charge by’ options in the car to implement a defined schedule.
It works best by leaving my home wall charger (myenergi Zappi) in fast ‘charge now’ mode.
When I plug in the EV (Audi Q4 e-tron) and the EV starts to charge, it takes this app about 5 or 10 minutes to detect that charging has started.
I can then stop the charge in this app, having previously defined my overnight schedule. It appears that this app stops the car charging by switching the car into ‘charge by’ timer mode with a ‘charge by’ timer being set to yesterday(!). This prevents charging in the car, because the car never gets anywhere near the ‘charge by’ time which is set to just under a week away.
At the scheduled time, the app seems to switch the car back to ‘charge now’ mode for the duration of the schedule.
This is something the myAudi app struggles to do without all kinds of spurious errors and charging starting randomly outside of the scheduled times or, worse, not charging at all.
Not great
This should be a great app to use. I was invited to join which I did yesterday and set it up and it worked fine. But won't let me sign in anymore and says my details are wrong and won't do a password reset. What's the point asking people to join if it don't work. No numbers to call for support either.
No longer working
The app had been working well, but now when attempting to log in it says password and email do not match. The password reset does not send a link to email or phone number, so log in is not possible.
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling but still doesn’t work.
