Ratings and Reviews
One of the worst apps for opening gates
To open the gates you have to take your iPhone, unlock it, open the app and do tap + swipe. Sometimes app does not opening so you have to close it and open again. It is very not convenient and safe while you driving in the car. Other similar apps have Apple Watch app to do it in one click and Apple Shortcut connection so I can just ask Siri to open the gates.
Please add an ability to use it via Shortcuts, it would make it way easier and safer. Thank you.
Developer Response ,
We've worked hard to enhance the app's stability, significantly reducing the chances of it not opening on the first try. This update should provide a smoother, more reliable experience.
You can now add your gates to a "shortcut favorites" within the app. This feature allows for quicker, easier access, so you can open your gates with fewer taps and less time spent on your screen.
Additionally, you have ability to open your gates using Siri. By setting up a simple text command, such as "Hey Siri, text gate open," you can operate your gates hands-free, making it much safer while driving. (note your admin would need to give you the permissions to activate this feature.)
Hope that helps.
Update: Difficult to use
I’ve been using the new app for a couple of months and it’s super frustrating. Can some please program an easy to use slider to open the gates so that I don’t have to fight with holding my finger on the gate button to get the green bar fully to the right so that the gate will open. 95% of the time it takes multiple tries.
Previous entry:
I can’t use Facial Recognition on this version of the app. I finally got the old version set up to recognize my face to open the gates but it’s not there in this version. Seems like the app went backwards.
Also - why can’t I reset my own password in the app?? Seriously - there is no profile option!!
We have a call box at our front gate that I have to recognize the phone number and process to use when a call is made. I don’t use it often but why isn’t it integrated with the Summit Control App.
Sorry guys!! We have had so so many problems with our gates since they were installed and a poorly developed app doesn’t help.
Developer Response ,
Hi Fig8or. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We understand how frustrating it can be when things don’t work as expected.
Regarding the facial recognition and password reset issues you mentioned, both of these functions are indeed available in the current version of our app. We recommend reaching out to your gate administrator to ensure everything is properly configured. You can also contact our tech support team for assistance—we’re always here to help. (972) 474-6422
App Update
I updated my app on my iPhone and see nothing different. When I connect to Car Play the app is there but it tells me I need to add a favorite. Can’t find a way to do that. Both of the gates at Hicks Airfield show up in the iPhone app but nothing to select when using Car Play.
Just a little bit useless when you don’t want to be handling your phone when driving.
Developer Response ,
Thank you for your feedback!
We’re sorry for any confusion. To use your gates with CarPlay, you’ll need to mark them as favorites in the app on your iPhone:
Open the app on your iPhone.
Tap the star icon next to the gate(s) you want to add as a favorite.
Once you’ve done this, your selected gates will appear in CarPlay for easy access while driving.
We understand the importance of hands-free operation and hope this resolves the issue. If you have any trouble or additional questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team – we’re here to help!
