Description
The SAFE 2 SAVE app motivates drivers to put away their phones while they drive by awarding them points that can be redeemed at their favorite restaurants and businesses.
Here are some key tips about using SAFE 2 SAVE …
1) Open SAFE 2 SAVE each time you start driving to earn points (or activate the Auto-On feature so that it will open automatically as you drive).
2) You can still use your music and maps apps that utilize Bluetooth. Simply, press the orange “Open Maps” button on the Points or Maps page to utilize your favorite Maps app without receiving “Don’t Tech & Drive” notifications.
3) Redeem your points for rewards at your favorite restaurant or business.
4) Start a competition with your friends or family to earn the most points.
5) Please send any feedback or questions to support@safe2save.org.
SAFE 2 SAVE is currently expanding to new territories. Patent Pending.

What a blessing!!!
I have struggled with using my phone while driving for a very long time. I have 3 college aged daughters to whom I constantly harp on about “teching” while driving, while I do exactly what I lecture against.
The other day, I saw a news story in San Antonio that explained how a fellow Aggie (whoop!) created this app and the premise behind it. I thought I’d try it, hoping it would change my behavior. And it already has. The feature that shows an uploaded photo of my three daughters every time I pick up my phone has been life changing. I’m sure I sound dramatic, but seeing their faces reminds me that it truly isn’t worth it. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!
I highly recommend this app!
Great idea; disappointed by it becoming just advertising
When I first downloaded this app, I loved the concept. Every company at that time actually offered you something for safe driving. Whether it be a burger or a discount etc. Now, it really has become a glorified advertisement app. Almost all of the new companies added you don’t even need the app for the “deal.” It’s just another way to send spam basically. And 100%, not driving distracted should be my responsibility whether there is an incentive or not. But when I first used this app, it was exciting to see how many points I got and I committed to putting my phone in my glove box or wherever so I wouldn’t use it. Now, though, with a long drive everyday, you can only eat so many Big Macs before you just decide to take a call from people while you drive. Again, the incentive should be staying alive but I guess I don’t need this app having my information to do that.
Don’t get this app if you live in Austin
This app has a great concept and I love using it and gaining points when I drive but there is only 5 Things available in Austin, TX. I’m a girl and they recently added a place where men can get their hair cut? This does not benefit many people using the app. They also have aceable on there which is great! I am using aceable right now to get my license and I wish I would’ve known about the discount when I first got aceable! Although having aceable is great there is really nothing else in the Austin Area to use it on, so I won’t be using this app anymore along with many people in Austin because there is nothing really to gain points for. I requested a couple different things on the app, I’m not really sure how those work so I’m hopeful that they reach out to places in Austin! But if nothing more gets added to the Austin Area there is no real reason for people in Austin to use this app, which is unfortunate since it seemed like such a great idea/concept.
Developer Response ,
We are excited to let you know that Blaze Pizza was added in Austin a couple of months ago and La Madeleine was added a couple of weeks ago. Plus, we have more businesses coming online in Austin soon! So keep earning those points!
