The new update screwed it up badly
In the new update, I cannot send a message to my doctor. If I click on "send a message," it gives me the following options: "receive online care," which in turn requires me to pick from a list of automated alleged "E-visits" for medical issues NONE of which are the one I have; "review and refill medications," which is not what I need; "Schedule an appointment," which I also do not need; "request medical records or forms," which is also not what I need; "ask a medical question," which is not what I need; and"Message member support about billing and Member Services,"Which is, again, NOT what I need. I need to email my doctor, dammit! In what world does the Kaiser website "send a message" option actually allow sending a message? There goes the most important functionality of the site, so I won't be using this app very much anymore.

My doctor online is a marginal success
Still , after many many years and KP having laid off about 500 people in IT, the fact remains that my dictir online is just a fantastic goal and objective . Of course such objectives are not realized without the time and experts to make things work . Sadly, the self promotion process in media by KP perhaps drains too much money from the budget for them to finally finish this blending of computer and cell phone ( smart phone) technology . In the RARE instances that my Doc online actually works as intended and designed , it can be and sometimes is GREAT . Unfortunately this isn’t the case on a constant and miles or another half century away given the factual nature of the product as an “ app” . If you expect less , you could be safely prepared. If expect a great thing from first uses, you will surely be disappointed and annoyed . Dumbest of dumb errors they made was restricting or denying the patient ability to “ e mail my doctor”. That was never true e mail and the elimination of that ability is indicative of the fact that they have major issues to fix, repair, expedite, cure and resolve . Oh yes you can call but you will usually have 30 minutes listening to poorly selected Muzak or music I’ll take elevator music instead . You also will have to explain things four times to the Bozo ESL human types who answer their phones. Good luck , pal , you need it !
Adding children to moms app.
I would just like to say that Kaiser and the world need to “get with it”!! Ideally, I would have loved to be married with two kids just like the whole world is right? WRONG!! I myself have two beautiful children with two separate and different fathers, who have both been ordered to provide health coverage for their children via the department of child support. One of my kids gets Medi-Cal and the other has Kaiser paid directly by her dad. He however, is not a Kaiser member and uses his free VA benefits instead. So the problem I have is, that Kaiser does not allow the custodial parent to add her children in the MyDr app because I’m not the account owner. This is very frustrating as a mother who has 100% physical custody and care of her kids and still can’t possibly get allowed ACCESS to her child's medical information and can’t utilize the “app” for BOTH CHILDREN! I have 50/50 legal custody of my children but I don’t have the ability to add my child to the app because I’m not the one who pays for the membership??????!!!!!!!
Please fix this and allow the custodial parent to add her kids to the app. So maybe I can get her appointment reminders and prescription refills instead of the “dad” who doesn’t “do” anything except pay for the insurance!!! Ty.
