Homedics SereneScent 4+

I love my SereneScent and use it almost daily. However, the app is horrendous. I tried to use the schedule but it never comes on! I would really love to be able to use the scheduling feature so I don't need to turn it on everyday but it never works. The app will find my unit & connect by Bluetooth only once in a great while, usually not, and does not stay connected when it does actually connect. I'm deleting the app — I'll still use the product since it's useful without an app, but definitely feeling like this was a dupe since I bought something that promised usefulness through an app. I have previously been a fan of most Homedics products but this will make me think twice in the future.

In 2024, it’s pretty pathetic to have a bad app, but here we are. For example, if you try to schedule you have to click on the days you want. Simple enough. Except Sunday’s circle is only partially shown on screen. You can’t click it. Just so dumb and sloppy design. Did no one check it out?

Then to the connecting itself. You have to be really close to the unit to connect. If you’re in a different room it won’t connect. Again, pretty dumb. You should be able to connect from anywhere once you set the unit up. For $100, there are far better products on the market that at 100 times better, particularly with scheduling and app convenience.

The diffuser itself is great really love it but the app to control it constantly disconnects I have to unplug it then plug it back in to try and get it to find the device. when finally connecting to the app, it tells me that the device has old firmware needs an update. It’s on version five and needs to be updated to version seven i have done this many times over and it never actually updates to the newer version because each time it disconnects and I have to try and reconnect , It still says my device is on version five right now. I’m having trouble reconnecting again, so I’m thinking of just deleting this app.
