SSE Airtricity 4+

Change this app. The reason I choose to pay-as-you-go is so that I don’t get landed with large bills and therefore I can control my usage better. But this app challenges my wish to do this; it is so inconvenient, haphazard, doesn’t reflect the pretty pictures used on the App Store to promote it, and actually takes longer to use than walking to the local shop. No option to remember user details, no keychain functionality, worse than the previous terrible app and yet here we are paying your company for a totally problematic service. Time to switch provider I think. Who knew a mere App could lose you business! The App developer should be totally ashamed of this, not to mention whoever actually approved it; did you not think to check how it worked in real life?

Can I report this app for breaching it’s description? It doesn’t do what it claim to

Have to constantly reset my password as it seems incapable of remembering anything. Also to estimate bill it takes you to a separate website which requires a different login; this also needs reset frequently. Note: I have lots of different logins and have no issues anywhere else, so it’s not my stupidity. Regarding SSE as a company, their billing logic is idiotic. I literally just want to pay by DD for the electricity I use each month, but despite submitting readings, they constantly over or under charge. This is 2022, surely they should be able to know how much electricity each house is using without the need for meter readings and sending some poor bloke round with a clipboard. Im also annoyed that you can’t rate the app zero stars, and that there is practically no competition in NI meaning SSE doesn’t care what anyone thinks of them or their app

I didn’t think it could get any worse than the old app but you guys have really pulled it off. I’ve registered but the app doesn’t remember login details. It also doesn’t remember my account number so any time I want to top up I have to type everything in again. Also doesn’t seem to be integrated with Safari vaults so I can’t access my login from there or indeed my payment information. I’ll stick with the old app thank you very much. I’m an app developer and frankly would have been ashamed of this paltry effort. In fact I’m so disappointed I’m think I’m going to start shopping around for another electricity provider that actually can do this stuff right in the 21st-century.
