Peridot 4+

Peridot is a pokemon go, pokemon ranger meets bugsnax meets spore. A charming little game where you raise, breed and mix genetics with other dots and hatch cute little bursts of life with their own personalities and body language. Release wild dots from the blight fog and discover new genetics, colours, features and archetypes to play with. I adore this games concept and gameplay, but i feel like its lacking on a few things which stop me giving 5 stars. Firstly the game is Always using your camera for the AR experience and dot interactions of any kind. This heats even iphone 14s pretty fast and there is currently no option to turn off AR. Secondly i think dot nests are far too pricy. Sitting at £5 per nest, hatching can be quite expensive. The only way to cut costs down is by adding a large amount of friends to gift and receive 400 sundrops per gift received. But youre gonna need a LOT of daily gifters. Around 30ish friends if you want to try hatching every day or so. I personally think nests should only be £2.50 each instead, people would be more likely to buy nests more often if they were less expensive. I know i would. In the future it would be awesome to see an “ar off” mode where you get a layered 2d space for a small den, purchasable customisable texture/theme swaps, more toys and s space to allow owned dots to interact just for fun. It would be VERY charming.

I love this game so much, but there’s a problem in order to breed you have to be off of incognito mode and I went online to see how to go off of it. You go to backpack then settings but it doesn’t have an option to turn it off. I really like this game but I really want to be able to breed and I’ve had a look, but it doesn’t have the button to turn it off perdot is a very fun virtual game but I’d love to breed and get a new dots please can you fix this bug because I really like this game and I want to be able to not have incognito mode on. Please can you try and fix it because I rate it a four stars it’s very popular game and I love it myself. Please can you read this and sort it out thank you.

Ok, I'm in my 40s and probably shouldn't be playing this game but I do love it so far (5 months in)! Niantic really do need to sort their prices out 😂 though, considering the potential age of player - I can imagine some very broke parents out there, bearing in mind how much I spend! Having said that though, any costs are completely voluntary considering everything in the shop can be earned whilst logging in and playing (for example you need a nest in order to hatch a new "dot" but these are given away, one per week, at certain habitats and as general rewards for completing tasks etc). So, I deducted half a star originally which I've given back, as I do really love the game and love the creativity involved! It's a great little AR game that has almost endless possibilities. What's not to love??? Oh and as a last addition: this is not just played by children! All of the friends I've made have been via the Facebook groups and the messenger groups (and are all adults).
