Description

Ready for better EV charging?

This is Octopus Electroverse. Europe’s largest EV charging network.
It will change how you charge on the go.

——

Access over 850,000 global chargers with the all-powerful and award-winning Electroverse app and Electrocard. The Electrocard (RFID) is free to order & you can do this through the Electroverse app whenever you like.

‘But I’m not an Octopus customer!’ we hear you cry - well, good news! You don’t need to be with Octopus Energy to use Electroverse - it’s open to all!

What’s more, paywalls and hidden fees aren’t our thing - we’re more ‘discounts and inclusivity’. So, once you’ve signed up, you’ll have access to every feature immediately.

You’ll also only ever get clear and transparent pricing from us. We never mark up charging rates, passing through the rate we receive from the relevant network. This also means we’re able to wrangle some discounted deals - and you can wave goodbye to pre-authorisation fees, as we absorb those too.

Sound good? Then we’ll see you in the Electroverse soon.

One app. One card. One place for your charging needs.
This is public EV charging made simple.

App features include:

- Plunge Pricing discounts = On top of our standard discounts, we’ve rolled out Plunge Pricing: discounts when energy prices drop. Green energy = greener discounts.
- Electroverse map toggle = Switches map visibility between all chargers and those compatible with Electroverse. This means you have all the information when selecting a charger.
- Map filters = Search and find charging stations via charging speeds, socket types and preferred networks.
- Detailed Charger Information = Shows live charger availability, a renewable energy icon to help you charge with 100% green energy, and important location details (such as charging costs and other parking restrictions).
- In-app charging = Charge your vehicle via the app! Simply plug in and tap 'start charge' on your phone.
- Route planner = Energise your drive with plotted charging stops along any route! Makes driving long distances a piece of cake.
- Pay, your way = Debit card, Apple Pay, PayPal & more. It’s all your choice.

Brilliant app (+a few suggestions how to make it even better)

Amazing app and card which makes travel on EV in Europe much-much easier! Thank you for such a great product.

A few suggestions how to make it even better, although some of those improvements may not be easy or quick to implement:

1) Integration with cars app
Like in Tesla, which can automatically map out a few chargers depending on your battery status and anticipated route. I know about the map planner in the app, but it requires battery status input every time you use it, would be easier if it can feed it from the car directly. Plus it doesn’t take into account other parameters which may impact my preference on the go, such as cafe & restaurants nearby (see p. 2 below), number of chargers (I try to avoid single chargers as they often can be broken or busy), price per kwh (see p. 3 below), etc.

2) Add info about cafe & restaurants nearby
Given that charging normally takes 30-60 minutes it is worth having info about cafes or grocery shops nearby. Right now if I don’t want to sit in the middle of nowhere, but prefer to have a lunch or coffe while my car is being charged I have to do a research switching between Google Maps and Electroverse in an attempt to optimise my travel experience.

3) Add pricing filter
Sometimes it is not only about speed of charging, but money. Right now I have to click on every charger to check the price and choose an optimum one. Would be great to have that feature!

Not User Friendly

I’m a system developer/analyst/tester and I find the app hard to navigate plus it lacks necessary features compared to other apps I use. My first use was nightmare - the app won’t confirm charging had started, it kept asking me to start charge whereas my car had started charging. I was confused so I tried stopping the charge to start again but it was stuck. I tried using my payment card on the charging station to stop the charge but it won’t recognise it because I didn’t start the charging with the card - I had to reduce my charging limit so my car can stop charging when it reaches the limit. If I’m not into systems, I wouldn’t know what to do. Also, I came out of the charging station thinking it was free charging since I didn’t see how to pay but got an email next morning from you on charges- not something I would recommend to someone that has an alternative. It was a nightmare!!!!

Developer Response ,

Hi, there. Thanks for reaching out - we're sorry to hear that your experience wasn't smooth, that's not what we want. It sounds like a bug occurred when you attempted the in-app charging function. As you rightly commented, you can only stop a charge using the same method you used to start it - which is why your payment card did not work. We have an FAQs section on the website (this also should have been flagged on your phone screen) which covers troubleshooting for in-app charging. If a problem does occur, the best way to get in contact with us is via our email address (hello@theelectroverse.com). With regards to rates, you would have been billed for the energy usage during the charging session to the payment method you have attached to your account (it is not possible to start a charge without a payment method linked to your account), and the rates for the charge point can be found within the app. To view this information, you just need to tap on the relevant charging station pin on the map. If you'd like to chat through any of the above - or to provide further feedback - please reach out to us via email; we'd love to chat!

Really useful, functional app

We used Electroverse for charging our Tesla for the first time in rural France & found it incredibly easy to use. There were so many chargers available to us through the app & the information given in the app was brilliant for finding the best charger in the area. We never encountered a problem - as another reviewer had said just plug in, swipe the card & there you go. We did find one location where chargers had been duplicated (one set of two was apparently out of use while, in the same location, an apparently different set of two was working perfectly) but that was the only problem encountered. We had expected to find the charging side of things a bit stressful on our holiday but, thanks to Electroverse, exactly the opposite was the case.

Developer Response ,

Hi, Shonamole. Thanks for the review and the kind words! It's great to have you with us. We hope you had a good time driving in France. It sounds like the data has been duplicated for that particular charger, so we'd like to fix that! If you wouldn't mind sending across the location (hello@theelectroverse.com), we'll take a look. In addition, if you'd to send any feedback/comments, that would be very welcomed - we really value community feedback and would love to hear from you! Happy driving, the Electroverse team.
