Meaco 17+

Fairly intuitive app, when used with Arete Two Dehumidifiers. Would like to see: notifications working with iOS notifications for full tank; ability to see on the app when the compressor is running; maybe a user guide for the app too? This review is of version 1.0 and I know there is a bug preventing ‘tap to run’ from working and I look forward to this being fixed in the next release.

*Update* 6 months since I reviewed and we are STILL on version 1.0 of this app. When are any of the promised enhancements / bug fixes coming? Not exactly giving the feeling of ‘best in brand’.

App seems to be ok overall, having had no issue adding my Arête Two to the app. However there are significant accessibility issues with the UI. The text for the rooms current humidity level is far too small and set in a light grey. This becomes completely unreadable if you turn the child lock on. Come on, app developers, a simple colour contrast check is all that was needed! I’m not sure why there is such a huge hierarchy disparity between the room’s target and current humidity. More of a balance would be more useful.

Also, the water tank fill level is as basic as it could be: “OK” in green, or slightly greyed out. Surely a notification for when it is full is possible?

Dehumidifier (v2) seems to be good and glad I bought it. The app seems to have the basic controls but can’t get the Routines or Click To Run scripts to run regardless of what settings are used. Total lack of documentation regarding how routines work or when they are evaluated etc or more usefully why they are not running. Had hoped it would be simple to create a routine that upon the dehumidifier being switched on then it sets a specific humidity, time off and notification but can’t make this work. Have emailed customer services but no response.
