Not fit for purpose

Have to agree with most of the previous reviews. I spent 3 weeks working with a Project EV agent trying to get the App to work as expected. They helped a lot and adjusted settings remotely. However the limitations of the Apex App became obvious. The main problem is not being able to schedule timed charging. The work around for charger timing I use is put the Apex App in “plug and play” mode and use the car app to schedule charging. However Project EV had to make some changes to my settings to enable this to work.

Awful, clunky, not intuitive

This app is clearly translated from a different language (and not accurately). The network setting tab is far from intuitive; clicking “setting” is actually a confirm button which times out after 60 secs. There’s no factory reset option and the cached settings are conflicting with the device. As far as controlling charging, the plug and play is awful. If the car pauses the draw, the device hangs in standby. It then times out at around 30 mins, preventing a further charge request without app intervention. You can’t leave your car plugged in to top itself up or to precondition if a charging session has ended more than 30 mins prior. Simple enough to disable plug/play timeout but there’s no option in the app.

Poor App

Having installed the EV unit and then downloaded the app hoping to have a smooth operation, this is not the case. The app has never saved the password, despite trying on several occasions. The timer has decided to completely “blank” itself out so making any adjustments to the timer are a no no.
Even the records for the charging are not brilliant having to keep changing between drop downs in the “records” to see information.
As this is linked to the Project EV unit, it is pretty poor, especially as Project EV where one of the first in the UK.
You need to sort this out.
