Amazon Fire TV 4+

I do find this app handy for when I can’t find the remote, but it doesn’t seem to connect when trailers play or when trying to click off a programme before it automatically plays the next episode (on Netflix). It’s so frustrating. No problems with connecting when I’m browsing or during a programme/film, only when it ends. This needs to be fixed for a higher rating. EDIT: this problem was fixed! Or at least I haven’t had this problem for about a week maybe two so I’ve noticed improvements... but since last night the app won’t connect at all. Tried checking for updates, tried restarting my phone... not working! Hopefully it’s just an update that’s not been made available yet making it mess around. I’ll keep checking for updates and will edit review if/when it’s working again.

I love this app because we lost our remote a few weeks ago and we’re finally able to control our TV again for free.

Though, over the past couple weeks, we’ve found that it’s taking ten minutes or so to connect compared to how it used to connect almost immediately. I am not sure if this is a problem on your end or ours, but nothing has changed in our household, so I can only assume it’s the app?

Otherwise, the app is incredibly helpful and certainly worth the download. Especially if you have lost your remote and cannot or do not want to buy another.

Worth it just for the keyboard entry instead of having to navigate the onboard fireTV keyboard with the simple remote and clicking character by character to type.

I find the apps touchpad swipe control to sensitive when wanting to move around using the auto repeat as it’s much too fast and the selection box on screen flies across too quick. Still looking how to adjust this. The mimic of a four quadrant cursor control does not have this problem and works just fine.

Brill - wish I had known about this app years ago. They should include a leaflet about it with each new fire stick.
