WikiPal USA has over 220,000 United States (USA) Wikipedia & Wikivoyage geocoded places in its database. You can browse places around your current location or around a chosen location.
Because all place data is resident in the app cellular data usage is kept to a minimum.
WikiPal may be used offline.
Offline Capabilities: Wikipedia & Wikivoyage article text and offline maps.
Not Available Offline: driving & walking directions, nearby businesses, and the ability to choose a location other than your current location.

In 20 yrs never wrote review but found this guide most helpful and vast amount travel information BL
Good idea, poorly executed
Information in the app seems to be interesting, with places to visit.
However, dark mode causes the category screen to be unreadable with black text on black background. Such a basic oversight makes me wonder what else was missed. Knocking off stars for clear lack of testing.

I see the problem with the dark mode and it will be corrected in the next database update. The app was written long before the dark mode was available. Updates since the initial release have mostly been to update the database with the latest Wikipedia/Wikivoyage articles.
