WavRouter 4+

I first purchased the outdoor mesh switch to add to my existing mesh system, only to find out that it wasn’t compatible. I then purchased the router/extender mesh system. The three devices worked really well for 1-1/2 weeks, then started dropping my connection, like connect, disconnect, connect, disconnect, etc. in a matter of minutes. I ordered a replacement router/extender and they work ok wirelessly, but will not work if wired directly. My old mesh system worked just fine with the same Cat 6 ethernet wiring, but ok, as long as it works.

That didn’t last long. The replacement mesh system worked for 2 days and started acting the same way.

Now, the WavLink app has got to be the worse software ever written. The app is nearly useless! From abroad I can check the router, but can’t see the status of the two mesh extenders. They’re listed but no indication as to their status! The speed test from abroad test my internet speed from abroad, NOT what the router is currently doing. There’s absolutely NO good information on the status unless I drive 45 minutes to our waterfront camp and connect to it locally. This defeats the whole purpose of the remote app ! ! ! The worse product and software EVER ! ! !

The app does not work with the extender - it is unable to recognize when you are connected to a WAVLINK network. Easy work around is to just connect to the wavlink network, open your webrowser and enter the IP address shown on the back of the wavlink device. Your password will be admin.

Not sure why all the negative reviews…setup of my router using this app worked seamlessly for me. Also it was very easy to connect after setup to adjust the settings. Granted, I’m no novice at router setup, and I know my way around networking…but it would seem to me that anyone with a basic understanding of how routers work would be satisfied with how this app performs. That said, if you don’t have experience in router setup then you probably should find someone who does…
