Ratings and Reviews
Not visitor/foreigner friendly, subpar UI experience.
I spent almost 2 hours trying to figure out how to use this app and I give up. Even though my device is in English, only about 40% of the app is translated into English, and I use the term “translated” loosely. The app does nothing to help users understand the ticketing system or the regions. The app will not let me purchase otherwise valid ticket-starting location options. UI lacks basic things like cancel buttons for dialogs. The error messages are nondescript and provide no information on how to correct invalid inputs. You also get no information on “price level” and no guidance on how to choose it. The app collects irrelevant user information like address and displays my PayPal email (no apps do this). Relative to the importance of utility this app is attempting to facilitate, as an app developer, I have to say this is one of the worst apps I have ever used. They need to learn from the BVG app. For all my fellow travelers, just buy from the ticket vending machines at the stations. This app is for experienced local public transit users familiar with this area.
So many glitches
Time: the app can only extract the time from the phone. I cannot buy ticket for later.
The app also assumes 24 hour clock. So if you keep a 12 hr clock system on your phone, vrr will assume 8 PM to be 0800 hr. Such a pain and you can’t bypass this.
Thousands of options because app shows tickets for ALL the cities in the Ruhr area. Why?! Just simplify please. The options are so hard to navigate.
Nowhere can I find what a ‘K’ or an ‘A’ ticket is! I searched so many times, and finally I had to ask someone to figure out the German VRR code.
In conclusion, the app provides information you don’t need, but it will not make it easy for you to find the information that’s actually useful. So UNNECESSARY AND INEFFICIENT.
