Description

TotK Travel Guide is a companion app for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for Nintendo Switch. You can use it while playing the game to keep track of your progress, mark interesting locations on the map, and make notes. It can also help you find all kinds of materials in Hyrule, such as fruit, fish, and ore, and it's a quick reference guide for all the Armor sets in the game.

The app provides a spoiler-free experience: by default all locations and regions are hidden. Only as you unlock them in the game, you make them visible in the app as well. This means you can explore Hyrule and use this app without being spoiled by seeing everything the game has to offer. But if you just want to unlock everything in one go, that's possible as well of course.

At the center of the app you'll find a map of all levels of Hyrule. You find markers for Shrines, Towers, Villages, Stores, Korok Seeds, Lightroots, Treasure Chests, Minibosses, and many more interesting locations. Tap and hold the map to add your own custom pins to the app as well.

You can easily add notes to any location and pins on the map, and you can also make Quick Notes while you are playing the game. The game has an easy list that shows you all notes you have created. And keeping track of todo's is also easy with the Tasks feature that you'll find in the app.

TotK Travel Guide is a native app that puts a great interface front and center. The app is fully integrated with iOS: your data is synced with iCloud, offers a dark mode and homescreen widgets, and the app even has support for advanced system features such as the Shortcuts app. You can change the language of all locations on the map to any of the languages supported by the game, including Spanish, German, Japanese, and Chinese.

TotK Travel Guide is built with love by a Zelda player and fan just like you. You can unlock all features of the app and support future development with a single, one-time in app purchase. The app does not have any subscriptions or ads.

This is a third-party app and not affiliated with Nintendo Co. Ltd.

What’s New

Version 2024.1

Hey there! This version of TotK Travel Guide adds exciting new features and brings support for the latest iOS update.

# Related Locations for Korok Seeds
Some Korok Seeds have a related location, such as the Korok seeds you need to reunite with their friends. You'll now see these related icons on the map to quickly see where you need to go. Additionally, the korok markers are now placed on the spot where you need to start, not where you end.

# Support for Home Screen customization on iOS 18
All icons now have dark and tinted variations, and the widget also supports tinting.

# Map Label improvements
It used to be that some labels on the map would hide other map markers, even when zoomed in a lot. Now, markers will move out of their way to make place for those markers. This way you can always see and access every marker on the map.

# More improvements and refinements
- The area behind the status bar is now a nice gradient blur instead of the solid block that it was before. Makes things look a lot nicer!
- When you tap a marker that would normally be hidden behind the bottom sheet that'll be opened, the map is now moved around a little bit so that you can always see the marker.
- For materials that are mostly found in treasure chests, such as ores, the location of these treasure chests are now also shown on the map when selecting that material.
- Fixed an issue where the coordinates shown at the center would be slightly off when using the app in landscape mode.
- Fixed an issue where the map position would slightly shift between app launches

If you enjoy the app and want to support the app and its development, please consider leaving a review or unlocking TotK Travel Guide +. I hope you'll like these updates. Thank you so much!

A great start

UPDATE: The developer added a lot more to the map and added the option to hide completed stuff, so it’s pretty much perfect now! Thank you!

This companion app is very well designed and overall a great start. I like that it’s a one-time purchase rather than a monthly subscription (I have no problem paying for subscriptions, but it doesn’t feel like the right pricing model for an app like this), so that’s already an edge over the competition. There are a few things that I think are keeping this from being a true 5 star experience, and they’re also keeping me from actually purchasing the full app: 1. I agree with another reviewer that the app needs some kind of visual indicator right on the map that shows you’ve marked a place as discovered. 2. I’d take this further and say that the app should let you filter by that discovered status; completionists will want an at-a-glance view of the things they’ve yet to find. 3. I also agree that the list of things on the map should be expanded: stuff like armor, special weapons, special items, and bosses should all be there, and much of that data already exists. Overall, though, this is a well designed start. Looking forward to seeing the app expanded and even just those first two things would get me to pay!

Developer Response ,

Thank you so much for your feedback! I'll keep expanding the app, this version is just the beginning!

Wonderful Guides, Wonderful Developer

When I first started playing ToTK the first thing I did was look for a guide from Jeffery, seeing how far both the animal crossing new horizons guide and this ToTK guide has come in the last few years is a testament to the skill and dedication that goes into building them and I love getting to watch the guide evolve along the way! The direct responses to feedback and watching features added from popular requests make this a must have! I think my only requests would be adding the Bubblfrogs to the map or the compendiums, but not having them won’t keep me from looking forward to ticking off locations, items, and watching the completion meter for shrines inch closer to 100%!

An Incredible Companion

This app has made my considerable amount of time on TotK so much better. I wasn’t sure at first since I like discovering on my own and didn’t want help… but the app is designed around that. Being able to mark things as complete, and if you CHOOSE to look up the location of something is really invaluable though. In a game with SO much to see and do, this is better than any written guide could have been.

Highly recommended and incredibly well-done, you can’t go wrong with trying it, and the one-time-purchase for more options was a no-brainer to support the developer.
