Beware…I downloaded this so that my son could take the test from home. It mentions that there is a sample test that can be taken, so we selected that option for him first thinking it was a practice test. Nope. After finding alternative practice tests online for him to practice, I logged back into the app to navigate him to the test page for him to take the actual exam. It now says he isn’t eligible to take it for 24 hours. So basically, they counted his Sample Test as an exam and failed him, even though he never actually selected the icon to take the actual exam. How dumb. By the way, the “Sample Exam” isn’t even a sample test, but one question to show you what the format of the test looks like. In this day and age, there really should be a better and more concise system in place.

The best part about the app is that it didn’t work AT ALL and lead me here to read the reviews so that I know how it will mess up when it works enough to let me get past the permissions screen. Another excellent example of government spending money on worthless products and not holding the vendor accountable and the public just has to deal with it. This would have been fixed immediately if it were a product that a private company purchased for their customers or the company would not be paid for a nonworking app. But I’m sure this app company is still getting paid without the obligation to provide anything except frustration. The government’s system to provide corporate “welfare” for friends and family of government employees that are in a position to make purchasing decisions. Excellent use of taxpayers money. Have some integrity and fix your app. Not because it’s required for you to be paid but simply because it’s the right thing to do…..integrity.

I know others have had issues with this app, but I downloaded this app to my iPhone yesterday, and it worked perfectly. My son completed the knowledge test online at home and passed the test. I received an email indicating he’d passed within three hours. This morning, I printed that email and took it along with the other required documents to the DMV. I’d already filled out his application online, so things went pretty smoothly for us. All he had to do was complete the eye exam at the DMV. Within an hour of arriving at the DMV, he had the paper copy of his learners permit in his hand. Getting things done ahead of our arrival was such a time saver.
