Luminosity is a key feature of Panerai Instruments and timepieces since ever.
Panerai’s journey into luminosity started with Radiomir, self-luminous paste patented in 1916 and used in the first Panerai watch Prototype in 1935.
One of the main challenges was to develop instruments that could illuminate in the dark of the sea for military purposes.
The Journey continued in 1949 when Panerai applied for a new patent named ‘Luminor’ that gradually replaced Radiomir.
Today Luminor is the essence of Panerai: characterized by the emblematic crown protecting device and its signature luminous dial, it represents a symbol of Italian design.

- Open the APP to display the Panerai Luminor dial full screen on your device.
- Add the widget to your Home Screen: touch and hold the Home Screen background until the apps begin to Jiggle then select Panerai Luminor dial from the widget gallery.
- Enable StandBy in iOS Settings and add the widget to view the dial while your device is charging.

Its a good start…
I love the idea, Im a fan of Panerai and Im glad this app is available. So Im thankful for that. However I have some suggestions for example make the seconds hand sweep like the real movements. Make other dials available like a Radiomir (no date) and Submersible with the blue/green lume. Also the nightstand mode doesn’t actually update throughout the night and the hands stop after a while making it kinda pointless for use in standby. If its a resource thing with the seconds hand then just display the hour hands only like the Luminor?
Room for improvement
I like the fact that now there are two widgets available, however the second hand’s motion needs to be much smoother, especially on the large widget.
