Best App ever!!
I’ve been using this app for years. It’s very convenient and can be used anonymously. Reporting abandon cars is slow to response, but I understand that there is a backlog on getting them off the street. Reporting illegal dumping has a quick response as long as you enter the correct location. The only downfall is when there are no houses on a street it doesn’t report it correctly. Other than that, it’s great.
Allendale Rec Center picnic driveway gate
In August, observed park center gate was unlocked and wide open after 10pm until morning for criminal activity and local neighborhood nuisances, at least 3 days per week. When the park is used by night soccer, basketball and baseball games are over, locking the gate is not a priority for the local park vicinity residents. An unfortunate quality of life issue for years.
Oakland 311 not very effective
While most of my service requests are immediately “acknowledged”, weeks or months can pass without action. There are so many service requests for illegal dump at Joaquin Miller Park, that the app doesn’t allow you to report a new incident in the same area. It “thinks” you are duplicating a previous report - even those from years ago.
And then when the City does respond and remove the trash and solid waste that was dumped (Thank You), the app does not let you close-out the service request. This leads to the aforementioned problem.
