Description
Welcome to i-Angel Sound, an interactive auditory training program that lets you take control of your listening rehabilitation independently at home. You gain practice in discriminating and identifying sounds and speech components through a series of self-paced modules that cover different aspects of the listening process. The level of difficulty can be adjusted to match your developing listening skills. The program provides audio-visual feedback. Focused on practice and improvement of your listening skills, i-Angel Sound compliments your clinic rehabilitation program. The i-Angel Sound is developed by Inconvenient Solutions, the mobile division of TigerSpeech Technology Inc. and Emily Fu Foundation, which is devoted to develop innovative speech software for hearing impaired and children to facilitate the learning of sounds. The program contains a few thousands sounds from several categories, including environmental sounds, the name of common foods, the name of familiar animals, and monosyllabic words. The phonetic contrast training protocols used in the monosyllabic word training reinforce the brain's ability to distinguish between phonemes which are the building blocks of language. The program is suitable for anyone who want to improve the sound perception or simply to enjoy listening to all kinds of sounds, including environmental sounds and music.

Ratings and Reviews
Ok until…
I am a recent CI recipient and came across this app at the suggestion from a friend while doing my training. It worked great until it froze. I can’t get it off the page. I guess I’ll try clearing and then redownloading it to see if I can get it started again. SO disappointed!!
So helpful - thank you!!
I've been using this app since my CI was activated a few days ago. It's fun - even addictive - although I have to be careful because I can wear myself out. I know when that is happening when my score goes down rather than up.
I can see progress each day.
4 stars only because I am finding the choices of "Initial consonants", "Medial vowels", Finial consonants" relatively meaningless. When I think I am working on initial consonants and I am given a choice between "Lot" and "Led", it confuses me, but it's also good practice - a relatively minor quibble.
It also seems to default to "random difficulty' or whatever the term is, after I think I am choosing 'easy' or 'hard'.
But, again, minor quibbles. The alternative is to depend on someone repeating words behind a screen. This is so much better.
Again, thank you. This is a real service for people who want to hear and understand again.
Terrible functionality
I got this to help me train with my new CI. It seemed to work OK at first but now is super buggy. No audio. I’ve tried all their troubleshooting on the webpage, un-installing and re-installing the app, even calling the phone number on their website, which was a non-operational number. I’ve tried streaming the audio through Bluetooth speakers, through the iPhone itself, etc etc. The app only speaks a word aloud maybe an 1/8 if the time if you’re lucky. Dismal functionality and even worse customer support (non-existent). I’d give this zero stars if I could.
