App needs work
The app is pretty terrible. It’s really tedious to set up new routines and once you do the gateway goes offline and they don’t work. Along with that you can’t operate the blinds at all when the gateway goes offline. The only fix I’ve found is unplugging the gateway and resetting it. Not ideal when I’m not at home to do so. App gets a second star because it’s cool when it works, but the constant drops can make it really frustrating.
Are ther EVER going to fix the app?!?!
We had our motorized shades installed about 3 1/2 years ago. I setup schedules for the shades and it was fantastic. Then they updated the app about 9 months later. After the update the app no longer worked. Finally was able to talk with “tech” support & was told I would have to reprogram the shades. I asked if this would happen every time there was an update & was told there shouldn’t be another one in the next year. What? That’s your answer?!?! Called the company that installed the shades & they said they could reprogram them, but would have to charge me. About 3 months later individual shade’s stopped working. Finally had to have the install company come out to repair them. I asked if they would setup the app again. They eventually gave up on the app because it wouldn’t work. This has been the biggest waste of $10k. Go with a different brand and hopefully you’ll have better luck.
Not consistent
Very disappointed in the tech for the Graber roller shades. I have neighbors that have a different brand and their app is slick and works consistently amazing. When I found out about the gateway I was so excited to have something similar. This is far from that. My app hardly connects to the gateway. I regularly have to unplug it and plug it back in. At least once a day I have to climb on furniture to hit the roller shade button to get the shade either up or down because it won’t connect to the gateway or I just can’t log into the app. We have windows 20 ft up and those are either up or down when they are not supposed to be or half way because it just randomly stops. The windows are too high to be having to deal with a ladder everyday to get them in the position I want.
For how “amazing” graber roller shades are the tech is about 10 years behind. Super disappointed!
