Description

This war game helps players compare fractions while having fun! The beginner game uses halves, fourths, and eighths. The easy level includes thirds and sixths, the medium game adds in fifths and tenths, and the hardest game has percents along with all the fractions.

The object of the game is to win all the cards from “Dr. Cotter”, the developer of this favorite game from the RightStart Math program. Tap on your deck to start the game, then tap on the greater value card and that player takes the cards. If the two cards are the same, it’s a war!

If a wrong card is chosen, the linear fraction chart will pulse, indicating there is an error. The fraction chart may be enlarged to help with comparing the values.

The winner is the player with all the cards at the end of the game. This game will provide hours of fun fraction practice.

This is AWESOME!

My kids love this game. It gives them hours of fun AND they are practicing fractions!

Poor execution = bummed out learners

Right Start math curriculum users here. We like playing the physical card games that come with the curriculum and we were excited about the concept of these games on the go. Great in theory, but like *all* the other games by the developer, this one has some major flaws.

There is no real score that happens during play, the “points” (if I can assume that is what the number adjusting with each hand is), and it does not seem to reflect actual game play.
The biggest reason my kids hate playing this version of the game (which means it is not getting played which makes the purchase worthless) is NO ONE WINS. It is just endless play. What is the point of that?

Seriously, if you are going to charge people for these games at least make sure they function properly and follow basic game construction with clear winners/losers, the ability to undo a move (in games where it is applicable like Corners) and the ability to pause and return to a game mid play without losing the game (also a problem with Corners).

These should be easy development things to fix but unfortunately, based on the lack of response from the developer to any customer reviews/feedback, they care more about getting a few extra bucks than actually having apps that work well for students, which fit a learning curriculum you’d think would be top priority.

Fraction wars

Well honestly the game is terrible. It makes no sense you play fake player and it’s just a VERY bad concept like you can’t make it equal! I would definitely not recommend this for kids. Maybe the worst game I have ever downloaded!!! Didn’t work!!!
