Description
Ditto makes patterns paperless, customizable, and adaptable to specific body measurements – all in just a few clicks.
Ditto is the first-ever digital pattern projection system for home sewists. Ditto combines digital projection with algorithmic intelligence to make patterns paperless, customizable and adaptable to any body measurements in real time. The system compresses hours into minutes and marks the first evolution in patterns in 160 years. Ditto is the future of sewing, enabling the freedom of expression, the freedom of fit and the joy of clothes reflecting who you are. Ditto gets to the fun part faster.
Ditto is an ecosystem that includes:
• The website where you customize and purchase your pattern
• The hardware, including the projector and cutting mat
• The app that connects with and sends your pattern to the projector
How Ditto works:
1. Customize your pattern on the dittopatterns.com website. Your selected style with your measurements updated instantly.
2. Launch the Ditto app and calibrate with the Ditto mat
3. Project and cut your pattern
Ditto comes with hundreds of customizable, original patterns that can be modified in thousands of ways to create truly individualized garments. Ditto’s expansive library of customizable patterns creates countless possibilities. Changing a neckline or sleeve, or flaring out a skirt or pant leg are just a few examples of what is possible in a few clicks within dittopatterns.com. As changes are made, the technical illustration will reflect the choices in real time, allowing the sewist to approve the design or keep editing until each garment is exactly what they envision.

Ratings and Reviews
Updated review
I previously gave this 2 or 3 stars but I’m upgrading to 5. A year or so ago I had endless trouble connecting to WiFi. Even a replacement projector didn’t work. I finally set Ditto aside for months. Don’t know if bugs were fixed or my new mesh system made the difference but I now connect on the first try! I was always delighted with how Ditto patterns fit. Now I’m delighted with consistent hardware performance. Goodbye tissue paper adjustments!
Ditto App/ Projector does meet expectation
I purchased the Ditto projector 3 weeks ago and the first projector would not connect to WIFI and was required to use the warranty for replacement. Received the replacement Ditto Projector and it worked for 2 days and now the App will not connect to the Ditto Projector. This was an expensive mistake. The app only works with a mobile device this was disclosed prior to purchase. You can use a laptop to login to your account, browse patterns and setup your user profile and customize sizing for patterns however you can not access the patterns or projector. While using a mobile device the work space is too small and requires splicing the pattern to cut in more than one segment. The actual projector is a piece of junk and fails all the time.
Bottom line:
You pay for the projector and then you must pay over retail price for the patterns or pay for the yearly subscription and you will not own the pattern, it only downloads to the ditto site not your device. Most of the patterns will not even send to the projector therefore a limitation to what you can actually make. This product is poorly made and not worth the money. Only great in theory however there are too many bugs to be worked out. And there is a no return policy.
Landscape only?
I just got the Ditto. I use this for bag making and garments. The app is terrible, not user friendly, and the pattern instructions are seriously lacking. Who make a phone app that only works in landscape mode?!? I like using my phone, not an iPad, not my Mac. My phone! For something so expensive, you would think they would develop the app for mobile UI/UX. And the patterns instructions are not designed for mobile either. It’s not a great experience for such a niche concept. I highly recommend you get a product design team to help you improve user experience. I should be able to purchase and upload patterns and stitch them in the app, not have to go to a third party. It’s a lack planning.
