DexterPay 4+

Loved using the app for the convenience and the extra little rewards it gives you for doing laundry. That being said, it was super frustrating to be in a rush tonight and have the app malfunction. Any button pressed would simply do nothing and go nowhere. I restarted my phone and the app several times and it took me about half an hour in total of doing this just to get my washers started. Couldn’t even redeem what little rewards I did have because that crashed it without fail.

By the time my last load was in the wash, my first one was already done so I had to start loading the dryers. This is where the app really failed me. No matter what dryer number I chose it told me that it wasn’t a valid number and to double check the number or use a different machine. I would’ve just used my physical card to begin with but I had left it at home since I always rely on the app. Had to drive all the way back home just to dry my laundry.

I will not be using the app anymore because it seems others have had similar problems in the past and nothing is being done to address it. There is not even an in-app option to report a problem which is what I initially wanted to do instead of leave a bad review. Really unfortunate because the convenience was nice.

Giving this 2 stars because normally it works but tonight the app is malfunctioning and not going anywhere when I select options. Super frustrating when you’ve already unloaded all your clothes

I’ve been going to the same laundromat for quite a while and about a year ago they got new machines with Dexter Pay, but I still continued to pay with pockets full of quarters. This morning, on a whim, I decided to download the app and give it a try. Bad decision. I spent $13, paid through apple pay and about an hour later I get a notification that they’ve taken $25 out of my account. Logged into my bank account and sure enough, there’s a $25 pending transaction from DexterPay. Now I’ll have to dispute the transaction, which will take weeks. My question is, how many people does it overcharge that never notice or check their account? Never again.
