Frustrating, but I got it to work!

Everyone please read the save file transfer instructions on their website VERY carefully. I had tried about 3 times and failed, becoming frustrated and about to give up. But what I didn’t realize is that the purpose wasn’t to export your save STATES, you’re exporting your save FILE. Which means you need to save IN-GAME (Like, ignoring save states, and saving your game like you would normally playing on a real physical DS). So if done correctly, you shouldn’t be exporting and loading your old save state, you should start the game, and see your in-game save waiting on the title screen. Sorry if this was obvious, sometimes i get frustrated dont read the instructions very finely, but I hope this clears some confusion for other people who arent very tech or file savvy. Im so relieved there was a working solution, thank you developers!

i really dont see the problem

a lot of peoples reviews i’ve seen have talked about stuff like losing save data, having to pay money, or the transfer process being extremely difficult. i haven’t run into any of these issues, but here are some tips to make using delta legacy easier:
(these arent steps and these tips are numbered out of order from when in the process they would be relevant)
1. this is sort of common sense, but once you’ve exported your save from delta, go into your files app, rename your save, and make a backup (you can access the options to duplicate and rename by long pressing the file)

2. once you’ve imported your save data, just go to load data and load the file. i accidentally overwrote my save data because i tapped on it from the save file menu (the file isn’t gonna have game image on it, just a gray background and a delta logo, dont worry about it just load it up and it will read the whole thing)

3. make sure to have your melonDS bios and firmware files! you need to import them and the game file before you can get to adding save data. it’s the same process as you went through to put the game into regular delta in the first place.

once you’ve done all you importing, just use it like you used delta before. its literally just the old version. happy gaming!! :)

Reading is fundamental

Look at the instructions for importing save data and you’ll be alright. So far so good however I do think it runs my phone hot. I’ll update in a week.

Tip: Use the bigger file with the same name. Not the image files. The image files will not import the game.
