This is a new name for an app that I previously downloaded. It provides useful information for such things as a pending surgery. I gave it an “average” rating because my current app from Epic software does the same for me. In my case, I found it to be redundant. Give it a try, maybe it’ll be useful for you.

Thank you for highlighting your concern, and please be certain that Apple does not permit any developer to place apps on a user’s mobile device without their express permission. We rebranded our app, previously called Manage My Surgery (MMS), to CareConvoy earlier this week. This rebrand initiative prompted an app update, and we apologize for any confusion or misunderstanding it may have caused.

In prep for a procedure I was prompted to download the app for the first time. While putting in my info it asked for an emergency contact person who would get notifications of how the surgery was going,when you were done, etc. My husband was working so I asked my mom to drive me and I put her info in. She then received a notification to download the app, and when she did it gave her access to all my medical records in the app!! Luckily I trust my mom, but that is besides the point. She is a nurse and brought this to my attention as a serious concern. She even started getting the same pre-op notifications I was getting! She didn't even have to type in a password!

We apologize for any confusion or misunderstanding caused by the user interface (UI) of our app, but we do not offer an Emergency Contact option. Rather, we offer the option to add a Caregiver, and the app does highlight that Caregivers are given access to all patient information. Given your feedback, we recognize that we can improve the UI to make this clearer.
