Description
CAN Studio is an ISO 15765-2 CAN frame utility for quickly and easily understanding the contents of CAN bus data frames.
Inspect frame packet data and frame structure in one place on any of your devices. Decode SAEJ1979 standard OBD parameter values instantly, with live-updates as you type.
Features:
- Copy frame data as hex bytes, as base64 encoding, and as ASCII text.
- Import PacketLogger .pklg files that contain OBD scanner session data to automatically extract OBD command/response messages.
- Import ScanLogs from Sidecar, the automotive assistant (also available on the App Store).
- Analyze signal data with interactive charts.
- Decode extended vehicle parameters via the OBDb (http://github.com/obdb).
- Decode ISO 15765-4 CAN 11-bit ID and 29-bit ID.
- Decode SAEJ1979 Service 01 standard parameter id values.
What’s New
Version 2.2.1
You can now simulate a CAN ECU using the built-in simulator. Observe command logs, tune parameter responses, and save/load simulation session configurations.
Additional changes in this release include:
- Fixed bug where decoding failures would replace the entire UI with an error message. Errors are now collected and can be viewed in a dropdown pane instead.
- Fixed bug where mixed extended addressing logs would not be correctly parsed.
- An offline VIN decoder for quickly checking the make/model/year of a VIN.
- A toggle for extended addressing mode.
- Fixed bug where the center column layout would be too small if no messages were detected in the output.
