Description
The athenaCapture mobile app and its supporting athenaNet workflows provide a simple, secure way for users to add image documentation into athenaNet via smartphone or tablet device. Supported workflows currently include:
- Simple image documentation capture
- Encounter embedded image documentation capture
- Patient photo capture
- Insurance card capture
Images pass directly from the point of capture — athenaCapture — to athenaNet, and are never stored unsecured, e.g., in a device camera roll, a memory card inserted into a camera, etc., without manual intermediate steps.
What’s New
Version 1.7.5
Crash fixes - Fixed the issue where athenaCapture application is not responsive.
Ratings and Reviews
Extra click!
Why did you have to add the extra click at the end? We are seeing a patient every 10 minutes and extra clicks mean extra time. Also, can we please get this integrated with Athena one so that we can just use our iPads and not have to have 2 devices to take photos?
Developer Response ,
Hi Pasmokey, Thank you for the feedback and ratings. Your feedback is important to us and we continue to research and deliver features that add value to your office work. Also, improving image upload capabilities within athenaOne app is on our roadmap. Request you to raise a ticket for the issue you are facing, navigate to athenaNet Support > Create Case or Call > Additional services> athenaCapture. Thank you for the patience.
Upload issues
We are in an area with intermittent/very slow internet speeds, in a rainforest in Hawaii, and the app has no option to continue an upload later or upload from photos taken, so one patient’s photos grind everything to a halt on our single encrypted clinic phone. We will also get network error in the app and can’t move on from being stuck on one patient . Please facilitate ability to restart stopped upload or upload saved photos so we can use the app. Queuing multiple patients photos would be useful as well in the same way.
2 major issues make this useless
athenaNet forces the photos you add into a short and wide aspect ratio for display in the chart. It is very difficult to take a useful photo with that size and shape. Allowing the height to be flexible to support any aspect ratio would be a huge quality of life improvement.
Additionally many of us take pictures when seeing patients and then import them later when writing documentation. This app does not allow selecting an image from the device to import, only lets you take one from the camera.
