Excellent game, tiny issues
I love this game, it is absolutely amazing and I would reccomend it to anyone! I would say this game is better than Genshin, giving you the ability to dodge and more neat mechanics. I do only have one issue and it concerns the enemies and their levels. Recently, I managed to get up to Level 40 for all my characters. I would think the bosses would only be a tiny bit higher leveled, not 15 to 25 levels higher! Because of the high leveled bosses, trying to get the materials to ascend is a bit of a pain to do, and would take alot longer to get than usual. Whenever I encounter any enemies, they are around level 65, which makes doing tasks alot more time comsuming. That's all I would change is the levels at which the enemies can get up to compared to your character. I get that it would be to add more difficulty to the game, but that is ridiculously high, and just makes the game more long and frustrating, in my opinion. Other than that one thing, I would reccomend this game to anyone wanting a better game than Genshin. I love all the unique characters and I cannot wait to see this game and all the new perks they add.
unexpected amazing first impression
i, like many others, initially had the intention of supporting wuthering waves to force hoyoverse’s hand in improving genshin impact. however, the extremely fluid combat and unique echo system immediately peaked my interest, and i unintentionally spent a good chunk of the day genuinely invested in this game. the combat and ‘artifact’ (echo) systems are extremely fresh and interesting, exploration mechanics such as the ability to run up walls and use a grapple are extremely welcome, the npcs feel carefully designed whilst the playable characters aren’t overly flashy to the point they feel alien in comparison, the rewards are generous, and the world feels lived in. i appreciate the somewhat muted, more ‘real’ overall colour scheme and the fairly mature storyline early on.
additionally, when the signal drops out it seems to save your progression through dialogue so you aren’t restarting each time you reconnect, which is a massive game changer for me as it was a source of extreme frustrating with genshin.
WuWa definitely has huge potential to be a big player in the market, and if you’re coming from genshin with the same intentions, i encourage you to genuinely explore and enjoy this game for what it individually is.
