WeWork: Flexible Workspace 4+

Lovely place to come & work for a day or two. Good variety of workspaces across 3 floors & clean facilities. Wi-Fi has good connection although no mobile data on bottom floor. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Nice variety of tea & coffee always available plus a barista in the morning.

Great for a work-from-Homer looking to switch up your work environment every now and then, but also has regulars and entire office rooms rented out. You can find space to work quietly and they have dedicated phone booths although these tend to be very busy. It also seems like a good place to work with colleagues as there are lots of bigger tables & sofas to work on.

Would definitely recommend.

Terrible app, frequently gets stuck when trying to look at hot desking options when the site is currently closed even though you aren’t looking for now but a future date. Lacks basic functionality to select date, time, place and type of booking in that sensible order. Instead relies on a messy map that jumps and shows icons on a map which is unhelpful if you don’t know a site name. Mine repeating jumped to New York even though my nearest site is London (I don’t have VPN on so no reason for it to go to NYC, I suspect that’s a default which is just silly when it could look for your actual desired location first). Trying to be better than it is, I’d suggest they scrap the current user interface and go to a simple search box allowing common sense filtering. I strongly suspect lots of people give up booking with WeWork half way through due to frustration.

Good news is the app works fine and I’ve had no issues booking a desk. Furthermore the actual workspace is great and I always enjoy heading in to the office. I do feel however there are a couple of features that would really improve the app and just the overall experience of using WeWork:

1) The ability to add favourite locations would be a great improvement, I always use the same location so it’s rather irritating to have to search for the same office each individual time I plan to go there

2) The ability to view past bookings and invoices/receipts

3) Provision of digital passes would be a major benefit, as I don’t use WeWork all that often I don’t have a permanent physical pass so each time I head to the office I have to sign in at reception which is an inconvenience. If the app were to instead issue a digital pass on the day of the booking this would both remove the requirement for a physical card (which I’m sure will inevitably end up in landfill eventually) and it will save me and your receptionist time as I’ll just be able to enter the office
