Getting Started

Uckers is a game for 2 or 4 players, played against a computer or online opponents. Each player uses tokens (or ‘bits’) in red and yellow or green and blue. Move your bits clockwise around the board to the final squares before your opponent.

- Roll a 6 to move a bit out of the home squares.
- Use the value of both dice to move your bits each turn.
- Roll a 6 or a double to get an extra turn (settings dependent).

Key Rules to Remember

Rolling a 6 gives you another turn. A double roll also gives an extra turn if enabled. A double 6 does not grant 2 extra turns.
If you can’t move with both dice, you must use the higher value if possible. If blocked, your turn ends.

Hacking Off
Land on a square with your opponent’s bit to send it back home.

Blobbing Up
Place two bits of the same color on one square (a ‘blob’) to block your opponent. A mixi-blob (two or more bits of different colors) can be hacked off by your opponent.

Sixing-Off
Move past a blob by landing behind it and rolling consecutive sixes (one more than the number of bits in the blob). Send your opponent’s bits home and move forward.

Finishing
Once your bits reach their coloured squares, they are safe from being hacked off (unless suck-backs are enabled). The first player to move all bits to the final square with exact rolls wins. Completing this before your opponent gets any bit around the board to the final square is an eight-piecing. If your opponent hasn’t moved any bits into play at all, it’s an eight piece 'all bits in' victory!

Additional Rules
Select and customize additional rules to enhance your Uckers experience. Enjoy playing!

New Uckers and being refined

Ex RAF Armourer who loves Uckers, this app is new and is being more refined as the days go by, with additional rule sets (for those non-RN types that like to play harder 😂), WhatsApp interaction, functionality etc.

I am a subscriber currently but even if you aren’t you can play 1 offline practice game a day so you can relive your misspent hours in the crewroom, although not with Custom rules as these are only available to subscribers, but the custom rule sets do go some way to bringing back the multitude of rule sets found in RAF crew rooms etc!

Take a look, it’s certainly worth a go and with plans for more improvements to come, here’s hoping for more rule sets and functionality like Sounds, Background Music etc

We love that the RAF are getting onboard with the Uckers movement as well!

Yes, we have a lot more developments planned for the game as you've mentioned, but the big one in likely to be the introduction of leagues later in the summer of 2024. We hope you'll join us for that along with many of your other RAF colleagues.

Few adjustments required

Uckers is uckers but with the limited community, it would be better if you could add people as friends, see how many players are online and block players who rage quit because they can’t handle being humiliated or losing their last bit and sitting around like I did for 20 minutes whilst they revealed their 6 throwing abilities and blobbed my doorsteps. Just lose gracefully.
Often look for 10-15 minutes until I get a game.

Developer Response ,

Hi Iain, thank you for the review. Adding friends, seeing who's online and blocking players will be coming in the next few months.

There is also a growing Uckers playing community that are using our WhatsApp groups to arrange games with likeminded players. Details can be found at the 'Uckers Players' Facebook group, or if you drop me an email to hello@uckers.com, I'll send you links.

Warning! This game will take over your life

I haven’t played for nigh on 40 years but three days in and I’m completely obsessed! The tutorial is great for laying out the basic rules and even if you don’t subscribe you get a daily freebie against the computer to refine your skills. Once I’m confident I can hold my own, I’m all in.
If you think it’s ‘just Ludo’, think again. It’s strategic, exhilarating, frustrating and at times brutal.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for your great review - we're really pleased that you are enjoying the game. If you haven't already, sign up for information through our newsletter at uckers.com. Lots of new features being built for 2024, including leagues and tournaments.
