Great but freezes!
I’ve got 7 accounts linked to this Authenticator app and they all work as they should with no hiccups. However, when I open the app after closing it a few seconds ago it’ll freeze—sometimes on the passcode screen and sometimes in the accounts screen, not letting me scroll down to select a different account, as well as not allowing me to access in-app settings. During this time I can’t operate the app at all so I have to reset my phone because closing it and opening it won’t fix it.
Please fix this bug! Because apart from it freezing on me like this it’s actually great for what it does. Please fix this in the next update! 👍
The App is not supported on Mac OS and the IOS App is not allowed to show on the Mac OS Store.
Authy has been my 2FA app of choice for many years now, however they recently stopped support for Mac OS and I think Windows as well.
This is very bad because every time I need to log into a site when working on my laptop I have to reach out for my mobile phone. This happens multiple times a day for both work and personal things.
On top of that Twillo have not allowed the Authy IOS app to show up on the Mac OS store so there is no alternative at all. As we know all Apple Silicon Macs run IOS and IpadOS as long as the developer allows it, but for some unknown reason Twillo have not allowed this when they submitted the IOS version of the App.
I guess when having to reach out for my mobile phone multiple times a day becomes too cumbersome, which is going to be very soon, I will have to look at alternatives which actually care about their user’s convenience.
Great app, particularly as it’s cross device
I love this app. I particularly love the fact that I can have my 2FA codes on multiple devices. It makes migrating devices so much easier (I realise some people will see this as a security flaw, but personally I welcome it as I frequently change device)
The Apple Watch app isn’t great. Certainly up until the time of writing I couldn’t view codes for longer than a few seconds before it “reset” back to the selection screen. I’ve stopped using it. There have also been the odd issue with Face ID meaning there’s a 5-10 second delay post authorising via Face ID. However this is erratic and hasn’t happened since late May 2020 (written in June 2020) an early June update may have resolved the watch issue, I’ll update the review if it does.
