Super Agent for Safari 4+

Great app - Clears a path through the clutter.

Easy to install and set up and works really well overall. Fast and accurate, ticks those cookie preference boxes every website has in a way that makes sense so you don’t have to wrestle with them every time. I get a very occasional crash/reload on some sites but not enough to put me off. One thing I would like is for the pop up dialogue box to identify Super Agent when you touch the icon in the address bar. I am running multiple Safari extensions and good to see at a glance which one has expanded. Thanks for such a useful extension!

Avoid - PRIVACY RISK

Great app in theory, however, the privacy policy is a massive issue. As with many of these types of Safari extensions, you have to give it the permission to read (and more) every web page you visit. Unlike many similar extensions that promise not to collect any data, this extension collects data identifying you personally (including “other data” which is very opaque, though “any data” is too much). In addition it collects lots of anonymous stats, including location data. I understand that this may be valuable for the developer, however, it negates any value for the user. The developer may or may not abuse this, however, the risk remains, and you are at the mercy of the developer not to abuse this, or the risk that the developer is hacked and your personal browsing data falling into the wrong hands.

This somewhat ironic for an app that claims to focus on protecting your privacy! Essentially becoming a Trojan horse.

Therefore, the “cost” of this app completely outweighs the benefits. I would be happy to pay for the app, but logging any of my personal browsing data for any reason is completely unacceptable, and also surprising given that most apps of this kind go out of their way to state they do not do this.

So far so pleased

I don't normally write reviews but when there's an exeptional time saving user centric logical product then I do. In this case those rediculously annoying pointless and waste of time cookie popups, especially when they appear on revisited sites appear, they have been so far erradicated with this product. And not only that the interface is superb as with the installation. You cannot say that about many products as usually there's a stumblic block or obstacle during the installation process. I am using Mac OS with Safari. Oh - and you can also get a very useful dynamic report on sites visited, blocks etc. One point to mention though is if you do actually care about cookie warnings and your data is collection option - which I don't bother about (anymore) - then you probably won't need this product - although you can select specific sites in the setttings where you can overide.
