Shockingly bad - was ANY thought put into this design??

2 months on - the circus continues - despite allowing you to plug in to start the charge, nothing happens.
With this sort of service, EVs in the UK are screwed … but of course why would Total want to reduce their petrol sales ..

1 month on - the website customer contact has gone into radio silence, if you forget your password, good luck … (you can’t have to app open if you need to do this). Amazing that NO acknowledgment of ANY problems is made. Next stop the CEO of Total Energies … see if he knows just how bad this is … You would like to think that if you are targeting the top end of the market, you would have a product/service that works?! The charging points get confused if you plug in BEFORE activating the charge initiation on the app … and then locks you out from charging (school boy error.. You are meant to tap your card to initiate… kinda odd when I have not been issued one and it is meant to be a app based concept? If there is a problem, your deposit is still charged .. although this was refunded 3-4 days later. If the move to EVs is going to happen, companies like yours need to take responsibility for a properly thought through system - before the glossy marketing kicks in

Awful, awful operation

Source’s charging points are flakey enough but this app is horrendous, riddled with bugs and poor UX that make it borderline impossible to use. It never remembers my account details and doesn’t talk to the iOS email or password manager so I have to go find my password every time I try using it. Today it had also forgotten my credit card and, as other users have found, the number keypad stays around and hides the pay button. I did finally find a random patch of empty screen to tap to make that keypad disappear but then got an unknown technical error and was back to square one.

Meanwhile a £50 deposit is placed on my credit card. The website likewise charged me £50 for a technical error. Trying two different Source points a few times has multiplied that to £300. (I know it’ll be refunded in a few days’ time, but it’s not great for my credit balance.)

The pity is my local council, Haringey, has paired with Source for all our local charging points so they’re just building out more of this rubbish, when we’re crying out for no-fuss charging solutions that work.

The worst EV charging app

The app is so bad that today I gave up and parked elsewhere. On pretty much every app I use I’m able to autofill my login details, my phone number, address info, etc. but for some reason this app doesn’t let me do any of that so it takes a good 5 minutes after parking to get my details all entered, and that’s when the app works. Tried to log in today and after 15 minutes it didn’t recognise the charger I was parked at. If you plug in before sorting it out on the app it messes up the system and doesn’t let you confirm the charge. Really disappointing as the locations of these chargers are usually really convenient but until the app is sorted I’ll always try to find an alternative charging point.
