Really Beautiful

Dang this is a really beautiful app.
It needs an option to change the airpods icon to an airpods max icon.
For the sections on the homescreen, personally I’m not interested in any of the discovery focused stuff. It’d be cool if when hiding all the sections instead of just saying “home sections can’t be empty” it just expanded the header at the top with albums, artists, playlists and songs and just made them all look pretty.
But those are my only gripes (other than the api stuff apple only apple can fix)
This is my favourite alternative music player I’ve tried. Nice work dev!

PS also more icon options is always cool. Colourful dark mode icons please!

apple parity with real bite

This is a beautifully designed app to the core.

Incorporating a dark theme option that Apple has studiously neglected to implement on iPhone, the real selling point for me is how well it handles a large library - close to Apple’s 100,000 song threshold- and allows the user to seamlessly navigate between artists and albums without wandering too far from familiar terrain.

That it is wholly compatible with iTunes’ own hierarchical cataloging is an entirely good thing.

Soor renders album art beautifully and faithfully from my own embedded metadata. A definite plus too, is how it wisely chooses to avoid mirroring those horrendous circular artist icons adopted by Apple some way back, building idents delivered much more tidily in the square. The end result is more evocative certainly, a welcome return of the sort users of iTunes in a desktop environment have been demanding for years. Kudos.

Support from the developer, too, is nothing short of excellent.

I reached out with a minor issue, and Tanmay responded promptly with an invitation to preview a TestFlight beta of Soor which immediately addressed my concern.

In a world which all too often dictates passive adherence to the corporate norm, a little personal Interaction such as this goes a long way. Steve Jobs, I feel, would be gratified.

Centralises your own library again

This brings back the better player and centralises your own library again. You have the options to take away a lot of the clutter that apple have added. I am more interested in my own playlists!
I like that i can add a song directly from the playing screen again, don’t understand why this was removed in favour of a lyrics icon.
The now playing widget actually works and has control icons directly on your homescreen. Would be really good if you could star rate songs within the app, other than that it is all positive from me and was worth buying
