Description
This is the official SIMS Teacher app for schools using the SIMS school management information system. It simplifies everyday classroom tasks such as taking attendance, checking timetables, viewing pupil details plus recording conduct and assessment.
NOTE: to use the SIMS Teacher app software must be installed at your school before it can be used. It only works in conjunction with the SIMS school management information system and the SIMS Teacher app services. If you do not have access to these then please do not install the app as it is inoperable without them.
The SIMS Teacher app has been designed to support teachers by reducing time spent on classroom administration. Open the app to take the register and it shows the name and picture of all the pupils in your class. If you need to mark a pupil late, the app automatically indicates the current number of minutes past the class start time.
All of the data used by the SIMS Teacher app is encrypted so that confidential information cannot be accessed by unauthorised personnel. With real-time access to timetables and student information, the SIMS Teacher app helps to accelerate the flow of information throughout the school to improve teaching and learning.

Has potential but needs work
I enjoy the ability to quickly register my students but get frustrated with the severe limitations of the app. The
Login process is very lengthy and I cannot check detentions when I see a thumbs down, Creating a need to log on on a computer.
Please update this app
Like previous review mentioned, it has a lot of potential but seems like Capita don’t care much about it. FIRST OF ALL, THE APP LOOKS AWFUL ON AN IPAD PRO. This app last update was 1 year ago!
I still need to log in every single time and it’s annoying. I believe that remember me issue can be fixed. I can see behaviours but can’t see detentions i.e. with who and where is the location.
The app is too basic. Capita needs to add more functionality and improve to justify the cost since it is an extra add on paid by the school. Everything is moving to mobile devices now (iPad, Tablets, Chromebooks, Laptops), so Capita needs to move forward quick.
Has potential but slow and full of bugs
The app has potential, but has a few problems. It is quite slow when it comes to loading any data. The app crashes every time I open it first thing in the morning. The UI isn't particularly intuitive.
