Simpson & Partners EV Charger 4+

The EV charger itself is excellent, but I've been having problems with the app. It worked fine at first, but in recent weeks it hasn't been saving my charge history. I get an error "Data is not being recorded because the charger is offline". However, the charger is not disconnected because I can connect to it via my mobile network over 4G. Their support team was completely useless and couldn't help me resolve the issue in any way, blaming it on my router not sending internet traffic. All of my other devices appear to be able to connect to the internet.

I was initially put off by some reviews on here but I actually find the S&P app straight to the point and simple to do what I need in addition to a beautiful looking charger. I also installed a wired CT clamp to help with load balancing. The customer service is excellent in my experience, the fuse tripped a couple of times and I was supported to find a solution. The cause turned out to be how the electrician installed the charger. The connection never drops on my WiFi network (approx 7 metres away from router). Perhaps an improvement could be the ability to view live charging data when your phone is not connected to the same WiFi network so you can monitor the charge away from home.

I installed this charger in **October 2023**. I chose it for its features and appearance. Although the price was higher than other reputable chargers, it seemed fair to me. Now, to the point: the **CT clamp** is not functioning properly. It doesn't read accurate measurements, which means I can't monitor household consumption or use solar panels to charge my car correctly. I reported the issue in **November 2023**. They replaced the base (not the clamp), but it still didn't work. The last message I received from support was on **February 9**, asking me to wait another week. **Two months** later, I'm still waiting for that email or a solution. I **cannot recommend** this charger while something as **essential** as the CT clamp is not functioning properly, and support not only fails to solve the issue but also **stops responding** altogether.
