Rummikub‪®‬ 4+

I love Rummikub and so does my Grandmother. But in lockdown we can’t play each other because to invite a friend you need to log in through Facebook. I don’t have or want Facebook. My grandmother also doesn’t want or have Facebook. I thought the paid for version my give some flexibility here but no. Extremely disappointed and my grandmother is even more disappointed.

I was initially hesitant to download this game due to the rather unflattering reviews. I thought I’d give it a go. I’ve played this for some time now with friends and have to say that we love it. I would agree that it can be quirky, although this doesn’t happen much. I think the designers have gone a long way to make it as tactile and realistic as the original boxed game as far as is possible on my iPad. The detailing on the tiles is lovely and the game cleverly doesn’t accept wrong moves, dynamically adjusting the play area as tiles are added. I see that a lot of the reviews are quite old and games are developed as time goes by, so I expect that I’m playing with a much improved version today. I agree that it isn’t perfect and I would encourage the designers to continue to sort out any remaining bugs, but overall, if you enjoy the boxed version, then do give this a go.

It’s not too bad. But at most you get 5 games. Then it can’t connect. So you can’t play. Very, very annoying that you can’t play when you want. You play when the game lets you. So 50% of the time you can’t play the game. The other issue is the computer playing against you when you think you are playing against a human. You know when this happens, the “player” lets the first two rounds go through without doing anything. Then they do one move. Then within one move after the computer (pretending to be human) finishes the game within seconds that a human couldn’t do. I’m sure they use these “computer: human” persons are there to fill a gap. But don’t use them. It’s awful. Plus I lost my points on an upgrade. I got to level 25. Then I’m back to the beginning at level 1. Not good
