Great System

I bought the RLN8-410 camera system 8 months ago. They are set up through power of Ethernet. Decided not to go through wifi as there would be less reliability. A couple of times I’ve lost connection with 2 of the cameras but simply switched off the hard drive for 30 seconds and put it back on again. Cameras are very sensitive at night which is the only downside as it picks up spiders webs and I can wake to 40 odd e-mail alerts. Love the app and being able to control the cameras from my phone and view footage wherever I am through 4G. It looks like there has been a recent and much needed update on the app which I’d hoped would be introduced - that is, to be able to select which cameras to get e-mail alerts from. Previously the system sent alerts from all cameras. The update is fab! I would recommend reolink cameras. One of the best on the market I believe.

Doesn’t support iPad natively in Landscape

I got a Reolink Doorbell camera to replace my Ring Doorbell, the image is much better however the Reolink app is awful to use in comparison to the Ring app on the iPad. The Ring open directly to a view of the camera in landscape with a simple timeline at the bottom showing continuous recording with motion detected recordings that’s simple to navigate and is nice & smooth to navigate. The Reolink app launches in portrait mode like a not dedicated iPhone app, fine if your holding you iPad but useless if it’s in a holder like in my office. You can click on the camera view to get it to landscape but it can revolve the wrong way & be upside down & this is only the live view, so if some had rung the bell & walked away there is no way to scroll back a few seconds instead you have to find the playback view which goes back to portrait view & the time line is extremely slow & clunky to operate with really small blue lines indicating the motion recordings, because it’s zoomed out to the whole day ! Then it’s difficult to zoom into the last minute to show who just rung the bell! It’s so bad it makes me wonder who uses this at all! Please develops look at how smooth the Ring app is, it’s simple & works flawlessly & please support the iPad, without the software supporting the hardware it makes the Reolink Doorbell to hard to operate.
