Questland: Turn Based RPG 12+

This has proven to be a great game for this old fuddy-duddy 40-something with a love of turn based RPGs and strategy games.

Don't expect an award winning story or meaningful choices - if you're hear for that then you should look elsewhere.

What you can expect is a game with so much to do that you will never be bored.

The ultimate goal is to build and customise a hero of your own design by levelling them up and equipping them with the best gear that you can find. All of this is displayed visually on a gorgeous looking character model. It's very satisfying to see your hero grow and change visually as you build them up.
Building a strong hero will allow you to progress through the main storyline campaign (the fastest way of levelling) and will grant you more gear and resources.

If you feel particularly confident, you can even enter the arena and pit your wits against other players so that you can work your way up the leaderboards and advance through the leagues.

Or you can spend time shopping, trading, sending ships out on lucrative voyages, tinkering in the forge to improve your gear or you can even attend special events with unique prizes available.

Yes, the loading times can be a bit of a pain sometimes but that really is a minor niggle.

Overall, highly recommended!

I find it to be a nice game to put some time into has a pretty decent combat system with some depth which you can explore with different builds when you get the more popular weapons and offhands and it can be very fun especially if you find yourself in a good guild.

However as I said in the title there are definitely pay to win aspects of this game, I mean for example one event that happens every 2 weeks (piggy bank) requires you to spend £5 to buy an item which lets you unlock the second part of the event which seems very money hungry as it’s the same item you have to buy every time but it gets removed from your inventory so you have to buy it again, and there’s no way to grind for it in game.

If these issues were fixed or at least made so that Paying players didn’t have such a massive advantage with no way for a FTP player to also have the same opportunities then the game would get 5* but for now in its current state if you want to have the most fun with it you need to dip into your wallet.

Honestly the most fun and addictive RPG I have ever played on IOS. There is a never ending list of things to do so you will never get bored as there events going on every week and there’s no necessity to spend a load of time on the game. There no need to buy gems (one of the first non pay to win IOS RPG games) and the art style as well as customisation is fluent, well balanced and engaging.

Only downside is probably loading times, especially to start the game, however this is only a minor problem and does not affect the overall gameplay. What I would like to see in the future tho is maybe some clan based activities or events to bring a purpose into being in a clan with rewards that fit with how well your clan performs.
