Prison Voicemail 4+

I never leave reviews but this particular service has acted like a beam of sunshine during an horrifically dark time. My partner is serving a short sentence and our phone conversations were costing him most of his weekly allowance. I set up this service with the hope of easing that burden.

As soon as I signed up I received a confirmation email and the next day I received a text confirming the details had been sent to the prison - and what I liked even more was that I got another text when the prison approved my number! The worst part of having a loved one in prison is the ‘not knowing’, so I really did appreciate the extra update from Prison Voicemail on the progress and the personalisation of all correspondence too. It makes it feel more human for someone to refer to my partner by name, rather than calling him a ‘prisoner’.

A feature of the app that I particularly love is having the option to listen back to our live conversations. It really helps when I’m missing him the most and is a big comfort to hear his voice. I would encourage everyone with loved ones inside to sign up. It gives you that little bit of extra hope, which is often needed whilst going through such a difficult time.

So having never been in this situation I was just sending money in every few days so my partner could call me ... was costing a fortune. Then I found this app through a recommendation. Easy to set up. Easy to use and saves you lots of money. Over a 5wk period I think it saved my close to £100 .. that’s money that’s not being took away from your family and not off your table. The customer service is great. You send a email and get a sub 24hr response always with the issue resolved (well in my case)

If I was ever to need this a again I will definitely use and I’ll always send on recommendations to people that I know who need a service like this at a bad time

This has been an absolute godsend in the OST difficult time of our lives. Being able to leave messages when you miss them. Letting the children sing Happy Birthday down the phone making the day easier for your loved one. I also found being able to listen back to calls comforting as did the children.
The negative (if I can call it that) -1- Call costs are reasonable but always room for improvement as prisoners funds are always low.
-2- Sometimes the line connection wouldn’t be very good and my husband would waste credit trying to get back through.
Hopefully I’ll never have to use this app again but for anyone who’s going through this then don’t think twice about using this as your main phone account. :-)
