Ratings and Reviews
Excellent App
Gives you the times of the buses and has a bus tracker to let you know where the bus is should it be late. The brilliant thing is it lets you know which other routes and buses are available that aren't Preston bus
Unauthorised payments taken when using app for journeys
I recently noticed after paying and activating my bus ticket on the app, when I scan it upon boarding the bus, the driver has also taken payment again from my bank account using the tap and pay feature of the phone. This has happened twice on the past two occasions. Preston Bus customer service do not reply to my messages sent to them via the app. So if you use this app, the driver might charge you again when your phone is placed on the scanning machine which scans the ticket on the app, with the touch and pay that is used for debit cards, and ignoring the ticket on the app which had already been paid. Their customer services then don't reply when you message them about their error via the app.
Tries to take additional payment
When scanning the ticket on the bus, some ticket scanners trigger the iPhone to start making a payment via Apple Pay.
I wasn’t even able to scan my ticket today because the wallet kept opening.
Tracker is inaccurate. Often a large delay - bus is way ahead of what is showing, sometimes busses disappear, or appear where there isn’t one… missed many busses thanks to that.
Payment for tickets involves going to a separate webpage because the app can’t do it alone.
Tickets aren’t saved to the device so if you’re in a poor signal area (half of Preston if you’re on O2) then you can’t open the ticket.
App is ok if used as a very rough guide to the bus timetable but that’s about it.
