Description
Learn to read sheet music and improve your sight-reading skills with Music Tutor. Develop your speed and accuracy in reading sheet music by identifying music notes in timed sessions. Choose to practice with notes in treble, bass and alto clefs in timed or untimed sessions. After each test, you can review your mistakes and see your progress.
Other features of Music Tutor include:
• Custom Practice Range - Set your own range of notes that you want to practice with.
• Supports notes up to 4 ledger lines above or below the staff on any of the clefs.
• Notes Reference Charts - For Treble, Bass and Alto clefs.
• MIDI Support - Connect your keyboard or digital piano and respond directly from your instrument. This mode requires you to respond in the correct octave.

incomplete app on mac books
the version 1.3 of music tutor on mac book pro is very incomplete.
You cannot access any settings to control how many octaves to be displayed,
above all there is no piano keyboard to play from,
only written notes and the whole point of
learning piano music notes is to be able to place them on a keyboard!
I saw better versions on i-pad but I cannot seem to be able to upgrade this version on my mac book pro.
Does what it says on the tin
I wanted to really improve the speed at which I read music at, I’ve always been abysmally slow. I’ve started practising a couple of times a day with this app and I can honestly say that even already I’m slightly improving the speed that it takes me to spot the right note. How this translates to reading actual scores I’ll find out eventually. But it’s an encouraging first step already. The app is a no frills cleanly laid out affair. I like that it plays the sound of the note as well as asking you to name it. I like also that it tells you which ones you got wrong and points you right. All in all a nice app that is nothing fancy, but does what it says it does and does it well.
