Ratings and Reviews
Shoddy port of a revolutionary game
Immortality is one of the most important games of the year. Unfortunately this Netflix-led iOS port is a technical mess. I didn’t realise the game was meant to have music until I saw it mentioned in the credits because not once did the soundtrack play. Video often freezes completely and jumps while the audio continues. It crashed halfway through the finale. The lack of controller support is a disappointment; that half-broken controller functions are still present is an indication of the effort put in. Okay, it’s free, but would you rather get a free VHS tape of the best movie of the year, or watch it for a modest price in UHD?
Strange game
So the download took like forever, I didn’t experience any bugs or errors and runs smoothly. It’s a strange game to enjoy. Putting film clips together is awkward and frustrating. I don’t know I wouldn’t call it a game as such more like I don’t know a messed up app of movie clips that need sorted. I am disappointed that it’s not an interactive game like the ‘Broken Sword’ games. I can’t get into this game and as described dreadful movie scenes.
Superb
So I finally managed to download this game and I’m so glad I persevered as it’s excellent. A huuuuge game! The acting is marvellous by all, I can’t even imagine the amount of work that went in to it. Sam Barlow is a genius at this type of game. I’m not sure if I’m playing it right as I can’t figure out how to put things in order and am just finding as many clips as possible, I love the surprise….. you know the one! (no spoilers) wish I understood the layout and icons better but still enjoying it very much.
