GeoShred Control 12+

The UI for G-Control is overly complex and honestly an eyesore in comparison to “Polyplayground”; a beautifully intuitive midi controller by the producer Mike Gao which works with all the swam instruments plus any other instrument ap you could think of, lets you design your synth natively for midi or audio export and doesn’t ask for repeated in-app purchases to gain full access to its features.

Sorry to devs but the whole set up of this in conjunction with the other instrument apps just seems like an attempt to charge as much as possible.

Overall not good value for money in comparison to older, more thoughtfully developed iOS programmes.

Hey Game|Boy ... "Not Good for the Money", what does that even mean? It's FREE! It's a FREE MPE/MIDI controller. It can function as a LinnStrument (NOT $1200 USD ) and the basic MIDI Out Control Preset is the same controller space as a Roli Seaboard (Not $800 USD) . Within the MIDI Association it's used as a reference for MPE implementations. Polyplayground is a very different concept, and you are correct, GeoShred Control is not Polyplayground, it's something different. It sounds like you approached it with a bunch of assumptions about what it YOU thought it SHOULD be, rather than what it is. You know what they say about when you assume ... GeoShred Studio works on my Mac, and I‘ve bought the guitar instruments, which I can play using my midi keyboard. The controller app is useless, it doesn’t work via Bluetooth. I’m a bit reluctant to pay £50 a time for the various SWAM instruments, because if they’re all MPE then they aren’t going to work with my keyboard and I’m not wasting my money on them.

Further you are incorrect that the GeoSWAM Instruments are locked to MPE. I bought the Control App after having bought GeoShred Pro along with several instruments, one of which was the trumpet. When I opened Control and chose the trumpet it asked me to go to the store as it needed to be purchased. This I did, expecting it to confirm I had already bought this IAP, and would I like to download for free but no… I got charged again. £14.99 down the drain. My conclusion… this app is an ABSOLUTE con.
Edit - I owe the developer an apology. I wrote my review when I was mad, and I was unfair. However, I still don’t know how to use GeoShred in conjunction with GarageBand or Logicpro for iPad, but I realise this is down to my limited technical expertise.
I love the GeoShred app itself and have bought four IAPs to use with it.
Just wish I had the technical insight to use it to control other synths, but cannot find any YouTube help in this dept.

Pepgooner, Your review title is unfair given that you did not read the first 2 lines the product description. You are in an English speaking territory so this is not a case of language barrier. If you own GeoShred Pro you do not need GeoShred Control because GeoShred Pro already supports MIDI (GeoShred Control is simply a MIDI controller). All the GeoShreds are different apps with different IAPs. Further, GeoShred Control is free so technically you did not buy it.
