File Splitter 4+

I decided to take a gamble on this as it was only 79p. Whilst it does not do what I would have liked it to, it does still work.

I bought this app hoping to be able to split my large mp4 video project into several chunks small enough to fit onto a FAT32 formatted memory stick, and then watch those chunks as separate files back-to-back on my Xbox.

There are two ways to split available - by number of files or by file size. I can say that both ways do work, but that the split files are not useable until they have been rejoined. The split files have their respective number appended to the file name (i.e MyVideo.mp4.001 and MyVideo.mp4.002). I tried removing the number from the end, thus changing the file type back to mp4, but they would not play. However, when I used File Splitter to rejoin the files it created, it did produce the original file as one chunk, which would play.

So, in short - this will split your files so that they can be copied in whatever sized chunks you need, but they will need to be reassembled/joined as one big file before they can be used.

I needed this to split several CSV files over 1GB in size into smaller files and it worked perfectly.

For a 30GB file I wanted to split into 10 parts it just created ten 0 byte files.
