Epson Smart Panel 4+

What’s missing? Grids, so you can plan the page.
I looked to select multiple pictures to a page: 1 option given on the smart screen tools page is ‘split the sheet into 4’ (like an old fashioned window) - but it came out on 4 sheets!
I want 4 or more pictures to one sheet - not an unusual request, so why is there no option for this? Why no grid lines on the digital paper area, so you can put the pictures in the right place or better still, the app make a suggestion, which you can change if you want/need to.
The ‘Rotate’ option is really confusing! Why doesn’t it leave the page view as is, and simply rotate the image? Why both at the same time, just when you were beginning to get the hang of visualising the finished page with the 4 images on it, it re-sizes your image to full size again, like it’s ‘ticking’ you off for assuming it should be easy. (Almost deliberately confusing).
When it comes out one picture to a page, you then have to think upside down AND guess at the sizing. You’re wasting sheets when it comes out wrong. (Tip: take time to mark the page in pencil [ top right, top left etc]
What a FAFF.

The app was very clear and easy to use from an iPhone. However, it only ever got to about 3.8 out of 5 on its own setup log. Just before the ink was fully initiliazed, the app asked me if I wanted to set up WiFi - which I did - but it was completely unclear on how to do this (use the panel on the printer itself), & although it recognised that WiFi was enabled, it then just went back into a loop - initialise ink? Check - connect WiFi? Yes(can only say yes or no, & I didn’t want to turn it off) - already there! Hit next - I nitiliazing ink - connect WiFi ? Etc. So that was where the Incredibly smooth, slick App fell over. Hopefully, there was nothing important in the last section that I couldn’t do from the control panel or from the paperwork that came with the printer!
Now, where does the paper go?…

Really happy with this printer. Print detail & quality is brilliant, able to do high quality photos etc. Paid a bit more for an Ink tank printer to save on overall cost of continuously buying expensive ink cartridges, total recommend this option. The Epson app takes a while to go through initial setup process but its user friendly & really easy. The app & driver printing functionality & connectivity are really responsive & fast. For pictures seems better to use with good quality heavier paper types, text prints doesn’t matter. Ink lasts for ages & replacements a lot better price, the whole point of an ink tank. Great little printer, good price, quality great, highly recommend it, really happy with it
