DS file is ideal to manage files stored on your DiskStation, upload or download between the NAS and the iDevice itself, or do basic editing tasks. And always securely with HTTPS support. Besides file management, DS file is also a useful tool to do anything from browsing pictures, watching videos or checking work documents when you are on the go.

Ratings and Reviews
Lack the ability to copy folders to File
Lack the ability to copy folders to ‘File’. This renders whole app becoming useless when one needs to copy folders between the NAS and iOS device. Please update and add this functions to allow copying folders between DS File and iOS ‘File’.
Useful and fast, but one big missing feature...
I use this app a lot to access files on my DiskStation, both when I am on the network and also over the internet when I am away from my office. It works fine for this and is surprisingly fast to access files.
However there are a couple of missing features which are a real nuisance for me.
The first thing I often want to do is email a file, such as a PDF drawing, to someone when I am not in my office. You can't do this directly from DS File because this feature is not available, so in order to do this I have to open the file into another app which does support emailing (I use GoodReader), and the way to do this is in itself quite convoluted.
The second (linked) issue is not being able to directly transfer files to other apps, for example to be able to open Spreadsheets into Excel (or Numbers for that matter), or WP files into Word.
These are quite ridiculous limitations! These features should absolutely be within DS File for convenience - PLEASE implement them in an upcoming version!
Ok for single file transfer
In iOS Photos you select a single file and the option to transfer it to your Disk Station is available. That option disappears when multiple photos are selected, only cloud services remain available. App Store policies as far as I know do not allow file managers on iPad, so this limitation you experience here will be down to Apple force pushing iCloud as your main storage option on iOS devices. 4* for being able at all to access my NAS on this device though, Synology can't be blamed for Apples policies.
