Deglaze: Cooking, Simplified 12+

Really impressed with this app so far

Allows me to keep all my recipes (including instagram videos with recipes in the caption) in one place. It’s searchable and taggable, which is far better than my old solution of creating a separate instagram and sending all the videos to my food account, then saving them into different collections based on cuisine or main ingredient. This is such a great app idea and I can tell it’s going to make my life loads easier. I’ve just submitted feedback requesting the ability to select multiple recipes and apply the same tag to all. Would also like to see functionality to exclude results. E.g. if I’m cooking a noodle recipe on Monday night and looking for inspiration for Tuesday night, exclude all results containing “noodles”. Or if, in my case, my boyfriend is sick of me always cooking Asian food multiple times a week, exclude all recipes with the tag “Asian”

AMAZING!!

I have never written a app review before. This deserves one. I have recently been looking for a recipe app, I paid for some and didn’t like them. Every one I tried had some form of paywall or terrible interface and UI.

Deglaze is just next level. The cleanest looking app I’ve ever seen. Everything works smoothly with nice animations and usability. And… it’s free. I really appreciate such a good app for free.

Recipes add perfectly every time. I like the custom tagging feature which allows me to search for recipes in categories I have set. The XRAY mode is brilliant, really makes things easier to read.

I’m yet to try the cooking mode, but from initial observations it looks incredible helpful.

Amazing app. Download it. Ditch the other paid apps that are poorer in every way. Will use this going forward as it’s a massive help.

Great, but missing a few key features

I downloaded 9 recipe manager apps yesterday. Deglaze and ReciMe were my favourites. Deglaze is so sleek and its highlight is the intuitive groceries list that combines ingredients from multiple recipes, which most of the other apps haven’t achieved yet. However, it’s missing some key features that would be so useful: 1. The photo scanning recipe function - I have loads of recipe books and take photos of recipes from my families’ recipe books, so it would be great to quickly import those (using OCR, not just as images). 2. The option to scale recipes is available on most of the apps, so I’m surprised to see it isn’t on Deglaze. 3. There’s no meal planning functionality, which I find quite useful on ReciMe. Of course, the huge benefit of Deglaze is that it is free! Although, I would be willing to pay if it had all my desired features. Will you be adding any of these features anytime soon?
