Needs some tweaks
I don't really want to start again. Wish there was a way to stay 1 block at the highest level building you achieved in the previous game. Woukd pay an in app purchase to jump right back at level 8 when I ended at level 8.
Also wish the bonus item explained what it did. At first I thought it reorganised all the pieces when it just takes one away. Would be better if they shuffled everything or took the most awkward piece away. It's so hard.
Beautiful and clever version of 2048
I loved 2048 when it came out but always felt the visuals a bit bland. But this dev has implemented it into a city-building theme, which goes absolutely perfectly, and with beautiful art and city-sounds too. Even though it’s a few years old, it still holds up incredibly well today.
A few things I’d love to see get an update:
1) The clouds are probably the biggest frustration. They look nice but they’re too opaque, so you can’t quite see what building is underneath and have to wait for it to pass.
2) There doesn’t seem to be any in-app purchase to remove ads and support the developer. Please add this — I’d happily pay!
3) Pinch to zoom functionality is sorely missing. I want to admire the buildings up close so keep going to pinch the screen out of habit, except the game detects my pinch as a swipe and registers an incorrect move.
4) The double arrow icon along the bottom menu looks too much like a ‘rotate’ button. Users would usually associate a single circular back arrow as a restart button.
5) A small request, but would be nice if it was easier to tell what a tile was worth. You can count the buildings but it’s difficult when a set of houses turns into a mansion. Although perhaps I just need to inspect closer — maybe if I count all the windows of the house or trees or something it will indicate the level?
Either way, the nicest version of 2048 I’ve played. Will be playing it a lot I’m sure!
Not original but great attempt
I haven’t been able to get past level 10, finding it extremely frustrating but oddly rewarding. Would recommend to anyone who likes the original 2048 game
